    Description

    STUART HORSE ARTILLERY GRIMSLEY ARTILLERY SADDLE SHIELD, BRANDY STATION, JUNE 9,1863
    This quite rare Confederate used Grimsley 1862 artillery drivers seat brass saddle shield was found at the sight of the Stuart Horse Artillery on the north side of the Old Carolina Road & is from the Battle of Brandy Station Virginia, fought on June 9, 1863.
    It Is 2 1/16” x 1 9/16” with 9/16” intertwined USA letters & is
    in very good, as found, uncleaned excavated condition.
    It was in a small local museum on the farm where they were found in the 1950’s & was bought directly from the family &
    comes with a certificate of authenticity with historical research.
